The Ph.D. programme of the Institute is offered in regular mode (full-time and part-time) and is governed by the Institute’s Ph.D. Ordinance as per UGC Regulations.

Duration
The Ph.D. Programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years including course work and a maximum of six years as per the Institute Ph.D. Ordinance.
Allocation of Seats
- JRF-qualified candidates (Category-1) are admitted based on interview as per UGC Regulations 2022.
- Candidates under Category-2 & 3 must have valid NET score (valid for one year).
Foreign / NRI Students
Applications from Foreign/NRI/PIO candidates shall be considered only through the Study in India portal: studyinindia.gov.in

Admission Procedure
- Admission through JRF or NET score.
- JRF admission based on interview/viva voce only.
- NET score holders: 70% NET + 30% Interview weightage.

- Contribution to society/community
