The Board of Studies (BoS) at Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) is a statutory academic body responsible for curriculum planning, syllabus revision, and academic quality enhancement within respective departments. It ensures that academic programs remain updated, industry-relevant, research-oriented, and aligned with national regulatory guidelines.

Composition

  • Head of the Department – Chairperson
  • All Professors of the concerned Department
  • Two senior faculty members nominated by the Vice Chancellor
  • One external subject expert from reputed institution / university
  • One industry or professional expert (where applicable)
  • Controller of Examinations (Nominee)

Powers & Functions

  • Frame and revise syllabus of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.
  • Recommend introduction of new courses and specialization streams.
  • Ensure curriculum alignment with UGC, NCTE, and national academic frameworks.
  • Recommend credit structure and evaluation schemes.
  • Promote interdisciplinary and skill-based course integration.
  • Review academic feedback from students and stakeholders.
  • Submit recommendations to the Academic Council for approval.

Meetings

The Board of Studies meets periodically to review curriculum design, academic innovations, and departmental performance. The proceedings of the Board are placed before the Academic Council for final approval and implementation.
